We will declare information technology, nevertheless, would like to know if there is a take a chance they volition confiscate it.
Cheers in accelerate!

YMMV - depends on whether the agent you're dealing with is feeling hungry and likes beef hasty.
But seriously though - they probably won't care if it's processed (which beefiness jerky definitely is) and in small quantities for personal consumption. But it's still definitely YMMV. The regulations (every bit published on various Canadian giovernment websites) are vague at best and subject to interpretation.
Just since you've already bought it, y'all've got naught to lose past trying to bring information technology beyond. And as long as y'all make a total declaration.

Beefiness jerky isn't allowed to be brought back into Canada. In the customs declaration form they give you on the flight into Canada it's listed there under stale meats or something like that. You lot're also not allowed to bring dorsum stale fruits. I had both, not knowing that it wasn't allowed. If your bag is searched then you'll have to throw it out. Oh well.
I'thousand guessing that you're bringing back beefiness and/or pork jerky from Macau. For what it's worth, jerky from Macau doesn't taste the aforementioned as say from ten years ago. It'due south like a lower quality meat they use now.

The reason that meat is not allowed is because they may contain contagious diseases such every bit mad cow disease or foot mouth disease. Is it worth it?

Penalties range from them throwing it out to a monetary fine. A co-worker of mine was fined roughly $500 for intentionally bringing back non-permitted items and for not declaring it. I once brought dorsum ii sticks of cigarettes, alleged it, but the community agent didn't stop me nor charged me revenue enhancement on the excess item.

Coming from the United states of america and properly packaged with state of origin, I don't think information technology would exist a trouble (from personal feel)...from Asia, I certainly wouldn't risk it.
If you declare y'all have food items, they don't automatically search your possessions...they'll ask what y'all are bringing in and if it's all permitted, they just allow you through. They are pretty good at sensing if you lot are telling the truth.

Certainly according to the link its okay from united states of america. We had biltong confiscated coming back from South. Africa (which we had declared). I never realized the rules were different from the US vs. other countries.

Just finished my parcel of Bee Cheng Hiang (Singapore style jerky ) which someone gave me in Singapore. I just placed the package in my bank check-in and didn't declared it.
Custom had opened my pocketbook but didn't removed the hasty. My brother was on the same flight and he had no bug with the jerky in his check-in.
This was Pearson airport, I think Vancouver airport might be more than restrict.
My blood brother and me got thru, only it'south YMMV.
